CAM Innovation is seeking an experienced Senior Controls Design Engineer to lead the design, and commissioning of control systems for custom machinery. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who can independently drive projects from concept through startup.

Position Overview
As a Senior Controls Design Engineer, you will take full ownership of control system design. You will play a key role in strengthening our in-house engineering capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design complete control systems based on customer and internal specifications.
  • Select and size electrical components. 
  • Support the creation of electrical schematics and layouts. 
  • Develop Bills of Materials for purchasing and production. 
  • Support machine startup, testing, and commissioning. 
  • Troubleshoot systems and support customers and service team. 
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams. 
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. 
 
Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering (Electrical, Controls, or similar preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in controls design (PLC programming experience a plus).
  • Proven ability to independently design and implement control systems. 
  • Solid understanding of electrical controls, wiring, and component selection. 
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. 
  • Willingness to travel for installations and customer support.

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days):
  • Supporting active machine builds.
  • Taking ownership of assigned controls design projects.
 
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary range: $90,000 – $110,000 (based on experience).
